Twinning Association
Brief History
The Parish of Creech St Michael is formally twinned with seven villages in the Vallée d’Auge; Manerbe, Coquainvilliers, Le Torquesne, Le Breuil-en-Auge, Fierville-les-Parcs, Manneville-le-Pipard and Ouilly-le-Vicomte.
The villages are situated either side of the D379 road between Lisieux and Pont l’Eveque in Normandy. The area is world renowned for its cheese, cider, the Calvados liquor and the beauty of its countryside.
The first contacts with the villages started in 1994 and a formal twinning agreement was signed in December 1995. A copy of this agreement can be seen on display in Creech St Michael Village Hall.
We organise regular social events and each year there is a formal exchange visit which in 2007 brought our French friends to Creech St Michael between 17th and 20th May. In 2006 we visited Normandy and the hospitality we received was second to none.
We do have great fun on these visits and at our other social events during the year.
New members are always welcome and anyone interested in joining should contact the Secretary, Nigel Farrow, on 01823 443882. Further information on the Association and details of forthcoming events are available on the Association’s website www.csmta.info
