A study of Creech St. Michael by Creech Primary School 1969 (price 4/-)
Foreword written by Eric Chown, Creech St Michael
This book has been kindly loaned to us for adaption and publication on the Creech St Michael website. It is a well researched document and as you will read in the introduction was very enthusiastically created by the children in classes three and four (all named page 4).
Like other documents transcribed on this website it was produced before the advent of the computer so the work involved had all to be covered by diligent detective work with pen and paper. The records that were consulted in most cases would have been the original documents.
The work to record a written and visual sketch history of village life was compiled over about six months and in 1969 the resultant findings were displayed in the parish church. The booklet was the result of many requests for a personal and permanent record of the study and the proceeds from their sales were used as a fund raising opportunity for the school.
If there are any of those pupils named in the study who are still in the village and have reminiscences of the project we will be happy to add any comments to this history.
The document is now in eight sections for ease of web access;

Throughout the booklet the photographs used were acknowledged at the time and we wish to state that they are not for reproduction. To have omitted them would have detracted from the charm of the document.
The original young researchers would not have been able to guess that forty odd years later their names would be placed on view. To protect them the contents are subject to the normal constraints given to any author.
Reproduction of all or any part of this work will not be granted without permission.
