These kiosks are situated in London and Weymouth but reading the article reminded me of the sad state of our village telephone box. Britain currently has 51,500 telephone kiosks, and just 11,000 of these are the traditional red ones. They are an iconic symbol of ‘Britishness’ and as such attract the attention of visitors. Please can we investigate the possibility of repainting our village telephone box very soon and turn it from a shabby eyesore to its original spendour.
